exams...
...suck! I only have 2 left, but they happen to be the ones that i have to worry about the most. biology is tomorrow, and i haven't really studied much for it yet, so that's what i'll be doing all day. and i have math on wednesday. i'm not really worried about that one, but i know that i still need to look over a lot of things just to make sure. yesterday my mom and aunt came to help me move out. my mom cleaned our shower for us, haha, because it was so gross. our roommate who moved out last semester had this really long hair, which clogged up the shower and has been like that ever since, and it was just nasty. my aunt also helped and cleaned the refrigerator, which was also nasty, because the old roommate left rotten peaches and stuff hidden behind everything and just didn't get all of her stuff out. so we had to deal with and throw all the shit out. i'm just glad they were here to help because it would have taken me and ashley forever.it's kinda sad seeing my room with hardley anything in it, but it feels so good to be able to go home for summer in a few days. i seriously can't wait. i'm not tryin to wish summer away, but i'm also ready for next year so we can move in to the beach house. we went and saw the one we will be stayin in for sure next year, and the landlord also gave us the leases. it's so nice, and you can see the ocean and the sound from the deck.

i have just over 4 hours of class time left of this semester. that is very exciting. we went to the beach today because it was so nice outside, and i'm planning on doing that for the next few days. tomorrow one of our friends is coming, and a several others from home are coming to stay with someone else, but they'll all probably end up in our little ass apartment, all 6 of them. they'll be sleeping on the nasty floor i hope they know. but i'm sure it'll be fun either way. we'll probably go downtown one night, and maybe play volleyball one night. at home in the summer, volleyball is our life. not kidding. just about everynight people are out at the volleyball court by the pool playing until like 1am. that's good for me because i will either be working or be in class til 10 most nights, so that means afterwards i don't have to really get ready or anything to go out, just wear t shirts and shorts..like always. but really, it's a lot of fun. it gets kind of competitive out there sometimes, but i hate when people mess around and do stupid shit and act like they're scared of the ball. they should just not play. i can't wait for summer and do this everynight for 3 months! ok it's not really every night, but a lot, and no it doesn't get old.

CNA
This summer I have to get my CNA so I can even apply to Nursing School next fall. I am taking the class at the community college at home, and it starts the day before my last exam. Monday afternoon after classes I went home because the pre-registration was Tuesday morning at 8. A lot of people have been telling me to get out there early because the spots go fast, and there were only 12 spots in the class that I wanted. I knew I had to get there early, and as crazy as this sounds, I was out there at 3:15. There was one person already there, so that made me second in line. by 5 there were about 30 there, and my the time the registration started there were around 50. I'm glad I got there early because I knew I would be able to get in, and I also didn't have to wait in line long like a lot of others, but that morning really sucked. Also, I asked my teacher if she would let me take the exam on an earlier day so I wouldn't have to drive 2 hours back to Wilmington at 10pm, because the class is from 6-10, for an exam that was at 8am. She won't change it for me, so that's really going to suck too. Whateverrrr. One more thing, I was supposed to go on a trip to Europe this summer with my family, buuuttt, because of this class, I would have to miss at least 6 days, which can't happen because you're only allowed to miss one or they kick you out, so now I can't go on the trip anymore. School ruins my life.

oozeball/ato formal
Oozeball turned out okay, everyone had fun i guess. we had to be out there at 10 just to find out that our time to play our first game got pushed back to 1. so my team went to eat breakfast at Salt Works, which was very good. when we got back it was about time to play, and we ended up winning our first game. it lasted no more then 5 minutes, and then it was another hour before we played our second game. we lost that one 12-15 or something, but i was kinda ready to go anyway. it just took too long, and on such a pretty day i would rather be at the beach. so that's what we did. we all went to the beach for the rest of the day, and it was a good thing because i had the worst tan lines from that wife beater. i was hoping that goin to the beach for a few hours would help the tan line, but it didn't do much. i had to wear a strapless dress that night to the ato formal and those tan lines were not cute--i also had burnt shoulders. the formal was really nice though..we had a good dinner and the band was really good too. the night ended up being a lot of fun, and a lot better then i had expected.

I finally know who I am going to be living with next year, and am hoping to sign a lease in the near future. My parents are lettin me stay in Wrightsville beach next year, and I am really excited. Now I'm just ready for this semester to be over, then I can enjoy the summer, then move into my beach house :) Oozeball is this weekend, and I'm really excited about that also. I'm playing on a team with the people from home and a couple that I here. We haven't practiced at all together yet, so I'm not sure how this is going to turn out for us. I'm still looking forward to it though, and will have to let you know how our team ended up doing. Also on Saturday, I am going to an ATO formal with one of my friends. I'm thinking this is going to be a lot of fun also because everyone is going out to a nice restaurant first, and then a live band will be performing. I don't know who the band is, but whoever it is I'm sure will be pretty good. So this weekend is looking eventful...and also hoping to go the beach Sunday.
I don't really know what to write about for this next paper. I used to write stories all the time when I was little, but I'm not sure how easy it's going to be for me now. I'm not really looking forward to it, but I'll probably try to write like Jackson did in "The Lottery". "The Table" that we read the other week in class was a little interesting to me considering I think the Holocaust is interesting, but the whole point of the drama was a little unclear. It wasn't bad to read though, but the quiz that we took on it was a little harder than I expected. I just couldn't think of anything to say in response to some of the questions. BTW I really enjoy this whole TV thing that we're doing!

this weekend has been one of the best recently. my mom came to visit, and ended up staying the whole weekend, so it was really good to spend some time with her and all. also, i have been to the beach 3 days in a row, friday, yesterday, and today. i love it. except i did get a little burnt today, actually a lot burnt, but i don't think it will be bad tomorrow. my mom went to look at the duplex in wrightsville beach that i am wanting to stay in next year, and i think she really liked it. my dad and stepmom are coming to visit tomorrow because they are on their spring break (they're teachers), and they are also going to go look at the house. i am hoping for an approval :)
so tomorrow night, carolina will be playing for the national championship again michigan state. i never really talk about sports because i don't really care, but my roommate is obsessed and a huge carolina fan. she has been talking about it all day and i am actually kind of gettin excited about it. we have a friend from home who is a duke fan, and they are constantly going back and forth talking crap about the other team and making bets with each other, so she is rubbing it in his face that carolina has made it this far. we actually just left a really stupid/funny video on his facebook talking about how carolina is going to win and all, so now it would really suck if they didn't.
now i have to go read like 50 pages of my psychology because i have a test tuesday, and since my parents are coming i have to get this done before they get here.

...
Well my mom is coming to visit me, finally, for the first time this year, and just to add to it she's only coming because she has to go to a wedding in Southport. I'm just not important. Haha just kidding she really does love me :) I'm already looking forward to the IHop that I'll be getting FOR FREE this Saturday morning with her, and I'm also taking her by the duplex in Wrightsville Beach so she can see it, and I'm hoping she approves so that i can live there next year! Also I'm planning on talking her into taking me shopping. So I'm ready for this week to be over so I can see her and all. Before I get to enjoy the weekend though, I have two tests that have to be out of the way. Biology and math. I'm not really worried about math at all, but i still need to study a little for it. On the other hang, I am VERY worried about bio because I'm practically failing that class, and would really be screwed if it weren't for the curve. But I've been studying for a week now so hopefully this grade will be better than the past two.
I just went out to eat at Elijah's. My best friend's dad, from home, was in Wilmington to play golf with one of his friends that's a junior here, so he took both of us out to eat. I know it probably sounds wierd that he took me out to eat, but it's really not. Him and my mom dated a while back, which is how me and his daughter, Krista, met, and we've been best friends ever since. So for a while he sorta raised me and is like another dad to me. So that was fun, and it was another free meal. I promise that's not all I care about even though I'm sure that's what it seems like haha.
Well that's about all for now, I'm going to go study my life away.

A Doll House: Nora
In the beginning Nora seems like a very loving character who is also very well off financially. Her and her husband seem very affectionate towards each other by calling each other pet names and they was they talk to each other. You can also tell that she loves her children very much and only wants the best of them. Later on you see how she loves to brag and how conceided she is when she says things like "Afterall, a girl with my ravishing appeal--", "It was a godsend that everything looks so well on me...", and "...I was the most responsible..." when talking to Mrs. Linde.
At first I thought that she was in love with Torvald, but now I have to question it. She lied to him about buying macaroons and denied that she had every time he asked her about it. Torvald also doesn't know about the whole thing with Nora borrowing money in order for them to Italy, and on top of that, she broke the law and can now get into a lot of trouble for it. Even though it seems as if she borrowed the money so she could save his life because she really was in love with him, but also since she decided not to tell him and lied about where the money came from suggests that she may not. At the time this might have been okay, because it would have been too much for him to worry about, but she still decideds not to tell him the truth about everything. She now seems very untrustworthy and dishonest, which are very important to a loving relationship.

beach dayyy!
Since yesterday was soo nice, my roommate and I went to the beach after I got out of my bio lab around 11. One of our friends, Carolina, has a duplex in Wrightsville beach by the Oceanic, so we went to her house to park there and go lay out. At first we thought it might be kinda cold, but once we got out there it felt so good. I even got burnt a little. I love living here. Caroline, her roommates, and two guys from home also joined us on the beach for a while. I can't wait to be doing this everyday, especially since I made my schedule to work around the time I would want to go to the beach each day when it gets warmer. So I get out every day by 1150 and on Tuesdays all I have is a 5:00. 8:00's suck, but at least it will be paying off shortly! So everyone that was at the beach decided that we would cook for dinner that night and we would all bring stuff for tacos. The tacos WOULD have been awesome, but SOMEBODY forgot to bring the lettuce, and I hate eating them without it. So, it was me that was supposed to bring it but I got mixed up and brought cheese instead.
I really want to live with Caroline next year because they are planning on living in another place like they already have. They got a really good deal this year on the house they rented, it was 1500 split 3 ways, and I think that's defiantely worth it being on the beach and all. But idk if they are going to be able to find anything that good for next year because now that house is going up 300 for next year. But hopefully something will work out because if I got to live by the beach that would be the best year ever!

Spring Break
This spring break sucked compared to the ones in highschool. First of all, we used to go to the OBX with a huge group of people and stay in a huge beach house with like 13 bedrooms. My friends dad works for the company that built these houses so we all go to stay for free. It was so much fun and for the past two years that's what we had done.
Well this year nothing too exciting was planned. My roommate went to Charleston with two other friends for a few days. I was going to go, but at first their plan was to stay the whole week, and I knew I didn't want to do that, so I went ahead and made other plans. I decided to work a few days considering my bank account had less than $100 at the moment, haha, that's bad i know. Anyway, the first Friday night I worked the restaurant was pretty busy and everyone did okay in tips. I work at a seafood restaurant at home, and I swear they need to build one somewhere around here because nothing here is even close to being that good. But that will never happen because it never gets the credit it deserves because most people either have never heard of it or don't know what is the best thing to order. So the first night back to work was good, but I can't say much about the other days I worked. It was sooo slow and I made more money that one Friday night then the next 3 nights combined. Yeah, that sucks.
My parents have a place in Emerald Isle, so me and my friend Lindsay went to stay there for a couple nights just to get away and not have to do anything. We ran into a group of people that all go to ECU now but are from home which was really random. So we all hung out the first night and had a lot of fun together. This beach trip was more relaxing than anything else because I got to sleep a lot & didn't have to worry about homework.
The end of spring break was probably the worst because me and my boyfriend broke up, but I know no one wants to hear about that so I won't go into details, and I hadn't done any of the homework or studying that I had hoped to. So everything was done on Sunday, including my math homework and the rough draft to our paper, which I think I'm going to go ahead and try to start finishing now so I won't have to do it all this weekend.

Outline
I decided to write about the first option that discusses the stories " The Lottery" and "In the Penal Colony"...
Shirley Jackson’s "The Lottery" and Franz Kafka’s "In the Penal Colony" both deal with a gruesome tradition that is seemingly unnecessary and unjustifiable. Compare these two traditions, paying particular attention to the language and imagery used to describe each.
Title ___________________________
I. Introduction
1. Discuss how tradition is carried out and how it stays alive after long periods of time.
2. Explain the different tradtions in each of the stories.
3. Explain how language and imagery are used and their effects.
4. Thesis
Although traditions are most commonly thought of as...blah blah blah haven't figured it out yet... they can also be carried on for no particular reason that lead to experiences that are not so pleasant and extremely cruel. In both of these stories, the traditions are described greatly by the usage of language and imagery which tell us exactly how tradition effects the lives of the people involved.
II. First Body Paragraph- Comparing Imagery
1. Compare the similarites and differenecs of the two traditions, paying particular attention to imagery.
2. Discuss the imagery of explaining the way the tradtions used to be in the past.
3. Discuss the imagery of children in both traditions.
4. Discuss the imagery of both stories having people are trying to change or don't agree with the tradition.
III. Second Body Paragraph- Comparing Language
1. Compare and two traditions paying particular attention the the language used.
2. The term "lottery".
3. The term "apparatus".
4. Other major uses of language in each.
IV. Third Body Paragraph- What Each Tradition Meant to the Characters
1. How tradition plays such a strong role in people's lives/the reason for each tradition.
2. The people in each story that are in favor of keeping the tradition alive (many village people vs. the officer by himself)
3. How it is passed down so successfully/unsuccessfully.
V. Conclusion
1.Summarize the key concepts.
2.Restate thesis.
I usually can't think of what the conclusion will actually say until after I write everything else out completely. Also, I might end up making everything that's under "Third Body Paragraph" into the first paragraph so it comes before actually talking about language and imagery. That way the summaries and explanations of each story is said in the beginning.

next year...
I really don't know what to do about living arrangements for next semester because I don't know if Ashley is going to be here or not. This has really been on my mind for a while and I can't figure out what I should do or if I should just not do anything right now. She has applied to Carolina and really wants to go there, so if she gets in she's definately going to go there. The thing is, she feels like she is not going to get in and says that she will most likely be here again next year. Well this puts me in a bad position because I don't know whether to start trying to find another roommate or what. If I did that I would feel like I'm doing Ashley wrong and leaving her to do her own thing if she stays here, but if I don't I'm probably going to be stuck either with someone I don't really know, or I am going to be living by myself somewhere off campus which would be a lot more expensive. Ashley and I tried to get a room in The Crossing or The Landing, but all of the room got filled up before we could try, and we still want to plan on living together if she is going to be here. Even though that didin't work out, I don't really mind because I would rather live off campus anyway. We even went to look at a few places around town and found several we liked, but the thing with this is Ashley's mom is most likely not going to let her do that because her Financial Aid only covers some of the on campus housing. So pretty much I only have a few options: if she's here next year we will probably have to live on campus, and since there's no where else to stay right now, it will probably be in the University Apartments again. Living here is fine for the first year, but I DO NOT want to be in this shit hole again next year. But unless her mom comes around and let's her live off campus or some rooms open up in the other buildings, it looks like I will be. If she's not here and it's too late for me to find another roommate, and after this year I know I don't won't to do the whole random roommate thing again because we had a bad experience with that, I will be living alone and spending a lot more money than I need to be. This is just really aggrivating and I really don't know what I'm supposed to do.

ECU comes to Wilmy
3 of my best friends from highschool that all live in Greenville now, Krista, Lindsay, and Rachel, came to visit and stay with me this past weekend. My roommate and Krista don't get along and haven't been friends for a while after a lot that went on in highschool, so Ashley decided to go home so things wouldn't be awkward between everyone. They all got here late Friday evening around 9:30, and as soon as they did get here we all started getting ready to go out. Another one of our friends from home who now goes to UNC came with some of his friends from Chapel Hill who are from Wilmington, so we also got to meet up with them. That night we went to Rize since it was free, and there was this smoke stuff coming out of a little whole in the wall. I am so retarted, and i decided to see if i could stop the smoke from coming out by covering the hole up with my finger. So i did it, and it burnt the hell out of me. It hurt so bad and i had to go run it under water for like 15 minutes then ask the bartender for some ice. I had a huge blister in a perfect circle on my finger. I swear I am such an idiot sometimes...
Anyway, we slept in Saturday and later went shopping for a while, then went to go eat at Bridgewater because everyone wanted come crab legs. It turns out they didn't even have crab legs, so we had sat down and gotten our drinks and everything before finding this out, then decided to leave. I felt really rude for doing that, but it was too expensive anyway. We walked down the street to Dockside instead, and guess what. No crabs legs. I thought this was the freaking beach, but we stayed there anyway. The food wasn't even really that good there either, but because we had our waiter running back and forth gettin us something else that we needed every 10 seconds, he got a good $20 tip from us, so he should feel lucky. We went out again that night, without any burn incidents, but almost getting in a huge argument with a guy who said that he had been to 6 different countries this year and that American girls are the most stuck up of all of them. How dare him. Anyway...we left around 2 to come back to the apt, ordered pizza, then went to bed. Everyone left early Sunday morning, which was a good thing because none of us had done the homework that we needed to, so that gave me more time to study for the bio test that we had earlier today (sucked), and now I'm about to study for psy and math and read, hoping to have all of this done by tonight.

grafiti party
This weekend Ashley and I went to Greenville to visit all of our friends from highschool that go to ECU. Friday night went stayed with two friends, Fahlon and Jenna, in their dorm. That night we all went out to eat at the Chico's there and later went to a party to see some people that we know, but not anyone that we went to school with. Saturday we all slept in, and when we got up went to the dining hall there for breakfast, and it's definately not as good as the breakfast we have here. For the rest of the afternoon we didn't do anything at all productive, and later on we started getting ready for the grafiti party that a friend was having for his 21st birthday. If you don't know what a grafiti party is, it's when everybody writes all over each other with highlighter, then they turn the lights off and have black lights on so everyone glows. Because you would probably get written on no matter what it would be a good idea not to wear anything nice or that you wouldn't want to get messed up. Most people just wear plain white t-shirts. Because we didn't want to be so plain like everyone else would be, we decided to cut out some of the top of our shirt and some off the bottom and then wear a neon colored tank top underneath. It was really a lot of fun and it was so good to see everybody that we haven't seen in a while. After we were at the party for a while we all walked to the bus stop and went to the club. We really need a bus that goes around for free here because it is really convienent and easy, and no one has to worry about paying for a taxi or having to drive. It was also a lot of fun to go downtown because I haven't gone in forever. The rest of the weekend went really well, it just really sucked to have to have to drive back on Sunday after getting no sleep.

3rd person...
Earlier today after all of her classes were over, Layne went to work out at the rec center just like she does everyday with her friend Stephanie. At the gym they did some weights for a while, then went upstairs to do some ab exercises. Their friend Justin was also at the gym at this time, and joined them to do some crunches, then the three of them ran some laps around the track. The original plan was to run four laps, which is almost half a mile, but the girls ended up only running two then stopping. It was obviously very exhausting especially for someone who doesn't run regularly and was worn out from the previous workout. After the gym, Layne, Stephanie, and Ashley went to pick up their friend Travis to run some errands. Afterwards, they went to the mall because Ashley wanted some neon tennis shoes. She ended up gettin some Pastry shoes, haha, but they are actually quite cute. They rest of the evening was relaxing, and later the girls went to Hawk's Nest for dinner with her friends Ashley and Stephanie. Layne eats Hawk's Nest all the time and is beginning to get tired of the food that's there. Tonight, after a long debate, she decided to get pizza and some french fries from Chic-fil-A. Now she is at her friend Justin's apartment in the Landing with some other people to watch the Carolina vs. State game. State is currently winning; the score is 14 to 13. Now, Layne is going to finish watching the game with everyone and later go back to her apartment.

weekend at home
Well I finally got a new phone after having one with a cracked screen since like September. I got a Blackberry hoping that if i got a nicer phone I would try to take better care of it, but I haven't figured out how to do everything on it yet. Later Friday night I went with some friends to my highschool's basketball game against one of our biggest rivals. The game was really good for a while, but my highschool ended up losing. There were so many people there, and a lot of fans from the other school on our side trying to talk crap to us the whole time, but it was fun watching everybody argue especially when it's grown men who are dad's of a player. Saturday I slept in, and I really wish I hadn't of slept that late because the whole day went by so fast, but I spent some time with my dad before he and my stepmom when to the Hurricane's game in Raleigh, then went out to eat with Connor for Valentine's and everything. After dinner we went to Harris Teeter to return a Redbox movie that i had had since last Friday, and also to get another movie and some candy to take it back home. We ended up getting Lakeview Terrace, which ended up being pretty good considering I had no idea what it was supposed to be about. Today me and my roommate drove back, and I was really not excited to come back for some reason. I think it's just because i never get to see everybody that I would like to when I'm home, and plus I have a lot of homework that I just do NOT feel like doing right now. I am in a really bad mood and just want to go to bed...so I'm going to try to finish everything so i can go to sleep!!

This weekend...
...my boyfriend came to visit again. Friday night we went with my roommate and one of my friends to work out at the rec center, which is now a daily routine for me, and later that night we went and got a movie from Walmart's Redbox. There wasn't many movies that we were interested in seeing, but we ended up picking out Pride and Glory with Collin Farrel. It seemed to be an ok movie, but it dragged out soo much. There was this one part in the movie where one of the cops picked up a baby and were threatening to put a hot iron on it. I swear if they did that I was going to take the movie out break it in half and throw it out the door. Luckily they didn't do it.
Saturday morning/afternoon, around 12, we all went to Wag for the pancakes and bacon, and because it felt so good outside we decided to go to the beach. It was so wierd being able to go to the beach in February, and that's why I am glad to be here. Since it wasn't really hot outside and I knew it would be cooler on the beach than on campus we just wore t-shirts and shorts. It was so fun to be out there, a lot of people had their dogs out and children playing around. We didn't get to stay long, but I'm really glad we got to go. My roommate went to Greenville last night for two girls birthday's, so my boyfriend and I went to Mayfaire to eat and go to a movie. When we got there we decided to go watch the movie Push. I had never heard of it but Connor said it should be really good, and it was for a while. It lasted about 2 hours, and I probably would have enjoyed it more if I didn't have a headache for the whole thing or start to feel sick. It was really loud with the screaming and everything which only made matters worse. I was so glad when it finally ended. I think I should watch it again after I start feeling better. After the movie was over and we came back to the apartment, (the university apartments), it was only about 9:30 and I went to bed. I don't know how long it's been since this has happened, but I just felt so bad. So far today, Connor left a couple of hours ago and I have just gotten out of the bed about an hour ago. Now I just plan on finishing all of my homework, hopefully relaxing the rest of the day, and hoping to start feeling better.

NSG
My major is nursing, and i have known ever since my sophomore year in highschool that i want to work in health care, so i'm really hoping that all of this works out and something tells me that this is definately what i want to do with the rest of my life. I always see nursing students walking around in their little scrubs, and it really makes me excited and i can't wait for all of that. I know that it's extremely competitive to get into the nursing school here because of the number of spots that are available, but I think i can do it. I had some doubts at first and have always felt that i may not make it and have to figure something else out, but somehow last semester i made an A in CHM. WHAT?!?!?!?! I never expected that after failing just about every test and quiz without a curve. The way it works is we get exam replacement if we pass the final. So I must have done good on all the sections to replace all of my previous exam grades. I was so excited, and it really gave me the confidence that anything is possible and nothing is too far out of reach.

Robert Frost
Robert Frost was a four-time Pulitzer Prize winning American poet, a teacher, and a lecturer. He was born in 1874, San Fransisco, and became interested in reading and writing while he was in highschool. After several different jobs, his first professional poem was published in 1894, titled "My Butterfly", in the New York newspaper The Independent. One of Frost's major inspirations for writing his poetry was his wife, Elinor. When they moved to England, Frost became influenced by contempoary British poets such as Edward Thomas and Robert Graces. He also became friends with Ezra Pound who helped publish and promote his work. Some of his most famous works consist of:
-A Boy's Will (1913)
-North of Boston (1914)
-Mountain Interval (1916)
-New Hampshire (1923)
-West-Running Brook (1928)
-The Lovely Shall Be Choosers (1929)
-The Lone Striker (1933)
-From Snow to Snow (1936)
-A Further Range (1936)
-A Witness Tree (1942)
-Come In, and Other Poems (1943)
-Masque of Reason (1945)
-Steeple Bush (1947)
-Hard Not to be King (1951)
A poet named Daniel Hoffman describes Frost's early work as "the Puritan ethic turned astonishingly lyrical and enabled to say out loud the sources of its own delight in the world," and comments on Frost's career as The American Bard: "He became a national celebrity, our nearly official Poet Laureate, and a great performer in the tradition of that earlier master of the literary vernacular, Mark Twain."
John F. Kennedy once said that "[Frost]...has bequeathed his nation a body of imperishable verse from which Americans will forever gain joy and understanding."

Chairmen of the Board
Last night my roommate, Ashley, and I went to the Soap Box downtown with some friends that we know from home to see the group Chairmen of the Board. For those of you who have never heard of them, they are a group that started in the 70s and are famous for beach music. I have never heard them play, but I have to say they were pretty good. It was packed in there with people our age, our parents age, and even a few our grandparents age. The price was a little ridiculous in my opinion, even though I know they are a well-known group. Some of the friends that we went with got tickets early for only &12, and at the door they were $15, and $17 for under 21. I'm not completely sure why they were more expensive if you were under age, but I'm guessing it's probably because we can't contribute to the amount of money made at the bar...little do they know, haha. Overall it was a really good night and I would definately go back to see them again. It was pretty much like being in a regular club downtown without as much grinding and creepy guys trying to get some; shoulder-to-shoulder, dancing, sweating, drinking, screaming, it was great. If you like this type of music and ever get a chance to see them I would definately recommend it!

Stereotypes
In 7th grade the county changed the school district lines, and i had to go to a different middle school than the one i went to in 6th grade. There was only a few of my friends, one being my best friend since the age of 4, Krista, that would also be changing schools. She and I had pretty much grown up together and had been friends for many years. I was really lucky that I wouldn't be going to this new school completely alone. The thing is, she was always the stand out kind of girl and wasn't afraid to do or try anything new, and me, I was the shy one and was scared to step out of my comfort zone. She, being the outgoing person that she is, tried out for cheerleading, made it, and became one of the captains. I was really happy for her, but as time went on she started making new friends while I didn't feel like I fit in with them. I had always thought that cheering would be a lot of fun, but just didn't have the guts to try it that year. I started feeling really left out of her new little "group" and had to make new friends of my own. I just felt that they were so much better than me, and especially since it was a whole new school with almost all new people, it brought me down. I wanted to fit in with them so badly and wanted to be part of their little "popular" group of friends. I just dealt with it for a while, but when 8th grade came around, I decided that I would try out for cheerleading this time. I made it, and I was sooo excited. I was finally going to get to do something new and fun, and I knew I would be able to spend more time with the friend I felt I had lost. She was also excited for me and was helping me learn new stuff before the new school year and practice started. After the dissappointment of 7th grade, 8th grade was so much better and so much more fun. I really did enjoy cheerleading, and it wasn't just because of all the attention that I got, I seriously thought it was fun and enjoyed every minute of it. Even though it seems that cheerleaders are ALWAYS the stuck up girls, and may be true in some cases, for me it was just about having a good time with people you enjoy being around. I'm sure people thought of me as the little snooty girl at times just because of cheering, but it really wasn't like that at all. With this experience I made a lot of new friends not because I was a cheerleader, but because that gave me more confidence and I became much more friendlier which ultimately allowed me to figure out who my real friends were and where I fit in.

Squats hurt this bad?!?!
Soo..my legs are killing me from doing like 50 squats yesterday.. I worked out for the first time in FOREVER, thanks to my boyfriend who was here to visit me. I am hurting so bad, and walking down stairs is THE worst. I had been wanting to start working out again for a while now, but i never really knew what to do, so instead of going to the gym by myself and trying to figure out how to work everything and look like a complete idiot, i made my boyfriend show me how to do everything. I played soccer for four years, but haven't played since my junior year in highschool, so i've kinda forgotten what it feels like to be sore. I had also forgotten how much this shhh hurts! We went and got lunch today from McAlister's before he went home, and since i had some left over and brought it home I don't have to walk anywhere in pain for dinner tonight :) yayyy. He keeps laughin at me and telling me to wait until tomorrow when it gets worse. I'm definately not looking forward to that. So if anyone see's me walking like a grandma...you know why.

Blogging Homework
It was really difficult for me to find two blogs that i thought would be good to read. A lot that i found were only one day's entry and so they weren't long enough. Then i remembered about the Xanga website that all my friends used to do back in the middle school days, so i searched that and just picked some random blog profiles and started reading them. The Xanga blogs that i chose seem kind of stupid to me at first, but whatever..
The first one i read was by a girl named Lindsey, and i read a few of her blogs from Jan 3-11.
What she wrote was very personal and discusses her emotions and sometimes religion. She's just telling how she feels and whatever is on her mind. The writer talks about a boy that she wants in her life and different problems that she is having to face. Music, she says, is something that she is really interested in and wants to pursue one day. She even includes some lyrics/poetry that she has worked on that really seems to let her get her feelings out of her.
This user's profile has two pictures, which are both of herself, and has the links to her friend's profiles.
I think this is a good type of blog, but I am not the type to just put my emotions out there for everyone to see, so mine probably will not be this personal.
The second blog that i chose was by someone named Kelly. This persons blogs went from Dec 21-Jan 11. What this writer wrote was interesting...she apparently is "coming out" in her blogs and talks about this girl who she has a crush on. I just don't understand how people can be so open about things like this not knowing who is going to read it...but that's her i guess...
She continues to just discuss how she feels about different things and also is a little emotional.
Again, a little more personal than i could be. This user also includes quite a few pictures and these are a little wierd to me...sorry for saying this. Her user name includes the numbers 122192, so assuming that is her birthdate, she is only 16. She also includes featured questions that link to answers that she has posted and where others can answer how they feel about each subject.
I've never done this before and i'm not sure if i'm really that into it yet, but I'm going to try!
